November 3, 2026 — General Election
The deadline
In Texas, the voter-registration deadline is 30 days before each election. If you move or change your name, update your registration by the same deadline.
Are you eligible?
- You are a United States citizen.
- You are a resident of the Texas county where you register.
- You are at least 17 years and 10 months old (and 18 by Election Day).
- You are not a convicted felon (or you have completed your sentence, including parole or probation).
- You have not been declared mentally incapacitated by a court without the right to vote.
What you’ll need
- Your Texas driver license or ID number, if you have one.
- The last four digits of your Social Security number (if you have no Texas ID).
- Your current residence address and date of birth.
Texas does not offer fully online voter registration. You can fill out the application online, but you must print, sign, and mail it (or deliver it in person) to your county voter registrar. The links above walk you through it.
